Jay's Stuff
A typical brew day at Jay's

After the crush is the mashing time in my giant mash tun

Ah, brew day

All the water that is brewed with goes through a charcoal filter

Here i am feeding the top hopper to set up my entire grain bill

Here is a shot of the electric motor that powers my mill

Home made shield for a 130,000 btu burner from a used freon tank

I built a steel box to house the pump and some of the controls

I built the grain mill cabinet on wheels so as to make it easier to move

I must say that the hand selected crush that i get from my homemade mill is great

I stir my grains with a paddle i made to flow the grain

I took a stainless steel rod and cut it into and then indexed it

I use a calculator to figure my crush rate for time setting

Inside my hopper i added a top of a water bottle to use as a funnel

My adjustable spray head for the mash tun

My same mill with the cabinet below to hold the 6 gal bucket

Payed close attention to compactness

Special bracing for weight distrubution

The counter flow chiller copper in copper

The food grade magnetic pump good up 250 degrees

This is a rear veiw of my two tier system showing the water lines

This is a successful boil

This is my most excellent mash tun it holds aprox 135 lbs of grain

This is the grain mill that i hand built from scratch

This view shows the recurculating capabilty of my mag pump
