Brewhouse Sink Setup

Here is my brew sink that I installed in my garage. I used a gooseneck faucet so I could get a carboy under it, and added another connection in the back left corner with a hose faucet so I could leave my jet bottle washer permanently mounted. I also have a garden hose adapter on the faucet so I can use the carboy cleaner (detailed below). After racking beer out of a carboy, I can use this to spray hot water inside the carboy which removes almost all of the crud left when the krausen falls. It only takes about a half gallon of water to clean it. Just a light brushing afterward and a rinse finishes the job.

This is a carboy cleaner. It is just a piece of 3/8 soft copper tubing with a 90° bend.

This view shows the detail of the bent end. A small disk of flattened copper tubing was soldered onto the end, and a small hole drilled in it. I use it attached to a 6 foot section of garden hose connected to the faucet. I rinse the carboy after use with the Jet Washer, then insert this gadget, turn on the hot water, and spray it against the spooge ring left when the krausen falls. Works great!
