Residual Alkalinity Calculator
I have designed this so that whenever you enter a value in an input field the entire set of calculated values will recalculate. I have made a few changes to the design and layout that John created ... they are listed below:
- Re-arranged the salt and ion columns to match what is in ProMash.
- removed the need for entering water amount, then changed the salt additions to 'grams per gallon'.
- Used the Bicarbonate option throughout, and removed the Alkalinity as CaCO3 option. This is based on the known water profiles of the world's famous brewing cities.
- Removed the capability of using acids for water pH adjustment. Frankly the calculations are quite elaborate ... I may someday add them, but not right now.
The cells with yellow background are editable ... the white background cells are calculated values. For the target and source profiles, you can select from the drop down lists or type in the specific values. If you want to enter your own values, you must select the 'Enter Values' option from the dropdown ... otherwise the code will use the values for the selected profile. When you enter values, as you move to the next field the values are recalculated.
Lastly, if you use this and discover any problems, please send me an email detailing your issue so that I can try to fix it... Problem Report.
